Frederick Adolph “Fred” Fox, Jr., 85 of Aitkin, formerly of Crosby, passed away on September 27, 2024, at Golden Horizons in Aitkin. He was born in Minneapolis on December 10, 1938, to Frederick Sr. “Fritz” and Verone Fox and was their only child.
He left school and worked various jobs, including building smokestacks with travel throughout the country, as an iron worker in Staples, and he drove a Schwan’s truck for many years. He was united in marriage to Mary Wright in 1950 and together they had four children. They lived in Des Moines, Iowa and later moved to Crosby, Minnesota. Fred enjoyed building with wood, riding motorcycles, following NASCAR, playing computer games, and he loved to fish and listen to country music. He always kept a candy drawer close by to satisfy his sweet tooth. His dog sidekick and faithful companion, Mia, was with him until his last breath. He was noted for his dry sense of humor and desire to make others laugh. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby where he took part in the Men’s Den and volunteered with the Meals for a Mission.
Survivors include sons Rick Fox and Timothy Fox, and daughter, Terri Kaster, along with 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Preceding Fred in death were his wife Mary in 2009 and son Micheal in 1982.
On Sunday, May 4, 2025, there will be a church worship service at 9:30 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby, followed by coffee time and fellowship. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM at the church with a graveside service at noon at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
