Gary Mark Zgutowicz

Gary Mark Zgutowicz, age 78 of Deerwood died on June 6, 2023 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby, MN.  He was born in Minneapolis on June 22, 1944 to Walter and Ann (Blahut) Zgutowicz.  He was a U.S. Army veteran.  Gary married Susan Beam on September 21, 1968 in Minneapolis.   He was a retired Senior Executive with IBM Corporation with 30 years of service.  During his career, he and his family resided in Minneapolis, Atlanta, and primarily Grand Rapids, Michigan.  He retired to Agate Lake in 1993.  Gary was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Cuyuna Range Knights of Columbus. He served as a past officer and was very active with the Cuyuna Range Food Shelf.

Gary is survived by his son, Andrew (Nancy) Zgutowicz of Glen Ellyn, IL; his daughter, Jennifer (Kurt) Schiller of Stafford, VA; three brothers, Eugene (Reni) Zgutowicz, Ron (Merilyn) Zgutowicz, and Thomas (Marsha) Zgutowicz; six sisters, Carolyn (Bruno) Mattedi, Beverly Bumgarner, Rosalyn (Joe) Sroga, Janice (Jim) Shear, Mary Ann (Jeff) Froehle and Barbara (Greg) Gildner;  and six grandchildren, Jack, Caroline and Peter Zgutowicz, Liam, Katherine and Joseph Schiller.

Preceding Gary in death are his parents and his wife Susan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. If desired, memorials are preferred to the Cuyuna Range Food Shelf.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
