Gerald Vernon Dale

Gerald V. “Jerry” Dale age 81 of Fifty Lakes passed away peacefully at his home on September 25, 2017.  He was born on November 23, 1935 in Mora to Vernon and Theresa (Ellens) Dale.  As a youth he loved sports, and went on to excel in football, basketball and baseball at the Mora High School.  After graduating, he went to work cooking for the Great Northern Railroad.  He married Barbara Berglund in 1958, the same year he enlisted into the U.S. Army.  He was employed for many years Lagerquist Elevator Company. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family camping, fishing and snowmobiling.

Jerry is survived by one son, Paul (Karen) Dale; one daughter, Laurie (Mike) Jorgensen; five grandchildren, Briana, Matthew, Samantha, Kyle and Katherine; three brothers, Melvin (Patricia), Robert (Loretta) and John (Peggy) Dale; and one sister, Judy Horne.

Preceding Jerry in death are his wife and partner of 55 years, Barbara; and one brother, Richard Dale.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm with Sharing of Memories at 1:30 pm.
