Gloria Jean Bisek

Gloria Jean Bisek age 87 of Crosby died peacefully November 7, at Hallett Cottages in Crosby.  She was born March 5, 1929 in Twin Valley, Minnesota to Henry and Ida Rinerson (Natwick). She was the youngest of 14 children.  She attended grade school in Twin Valley, Minnesota and moved to Mahnomen after her Mother's death at age 15 and graduated class of 1947 there.  She married Thomas Bisek in Mahnomen in 1948. She lived an active life as a homemaker, enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and entertaining.  She was very active in church groups, Farmers Union, 4-H, and Legion Auxiliary and Homemakers and always had time for family. She was also known as the Stanley Home Products consultant. Gloria and Tom were able to enjoy numerous trips within the United States and several countries. They retired to Deerwood, Minnesota in the early 1980s to be closer to their daughters where she cherished being able to babysit grandchildren. She became an avid quilter making many quilts for her family. She always enjoyed getting on the bus to the Casino to try her luck! She belonged to St. Joseph's Catholic church and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. After the death of her husband she moved to Crosby, where she resided until her death.

She is survived by her daughters Diane (Ray) Moshier of Little Falls, Karen (Del) Lecy of Underwood, and Bonnie (Jim) Belfiori of Deerwood; nine grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren (her 25th due in December); sister-in-law, Mary Christianson of Ulen, MN and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Thomas in 2008 and son Thomas Jr. in 1970, other siblings and in-laws.

Per her request a private family memorial will be held and burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Mahnomen.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
