Gustav Herbert Anderson age 86 of Crosby died on March 14, 2010 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. He was born on May 11, 1923 in St. Paul to Carl and Esther (Hendrickson) Anderson. He married Lucille Evelyn Erickson on June 27, 1947 in St. Paul. He was WWII army veteranserving in the South Pacific. After his discharge from the army he attended and graduated from Dunwoody College as an electrican. In March of 1950 he joined the Marine Reserves. In July he was called to active duty and served 1 year in the Korean War as an Aviation Electrician.Gus was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Outing; the Masonic Lodge, the VFW, the American Legion and a past Lions Club member.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucille; 3 daughters, Lynette (Richard) Cannon of Vashon, WA, Linda Anderson of Crosby and Karen (Reginald) Smith of Emily; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Elvira Anderson and Florence Goodwin.
Funeral services will be 2 pm on Saturday, April 10, 2001 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Outing. Military honors will be given by the Myrin-James American Legion, Ironton. Friends may call on Saturday 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
