Harvey Hubert Rusco

Sir Harvey Hubert Rusco age 91 of Ironton died on December 8, 2012 at his sons home in Hibbing. Harvey was born on July 24, 1921 in Fairfield ND to Hubert and Ila (Littler) Rusco. Harvey was a WWII army air corp veteran serving as a tail gunner on a B24 bomber, flying in 46 missions. He was a farmer, logger, construction worker and miner. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, writing poetry, playing cards, inventing things and was a talented musician. In November of 2010 Harvey was awarded the French Knight Legion of Honor. He was a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443 of Ironton. His wife, Margaret Florence Rusco age 88 died on June 6, 2012 at her home.She was born n November 8, 1923 in Hibbing to George and Nettie(Stockman) Brown. Margaret was a homemaker and loved gardening,birds and loved to play cards. She also an enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Harvey and Margaret were married on January 15, 1944 in Cass Lake. Survivors included 2 sons, Dick (Julie) Rusco of Hibbing, and Dennis(Susan) Rusco of Eveleth; 6 daughters, Caroline (Glen) Evenson of Summit,SD, Shirley Louma of Cass Lake, Maureen (Rodney) Marks of Buhl, Diane (Warren) Buchite of Ironton, Judy (Steve) Palkovich of Buhl and Trudy LaSart of Greely, CO; Harvey's brothers, Norman (Donna) Rusco of Ely,Maynard (Myrtle) Rusco of Aurora; Harvey's sister, Josephine Anderson of Alabama; numerous grandchildren, step grandchildren,great grandchildren, step great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Preceding them in death are their parents, son, David; Harvey's brother Carrol; Margaret's sisters, Lillian (John) Reisinger and Marie (Jay) Golly;Her brother George (Lois) Benzel and 2 grandsons, James MaKay and Ronald Richard Rusco; and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Mary Rusco. Services for and Harvey and Margaret will be 1 pm on Saturday,December 15, 2012 at the Open Door Church in Hibbing. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the services at church.
