Hazel Patricia Yotter

Hazel Patricia Yotter, age 90 of Crosslake, passed away on July 1, 2026 at White Fish at the Lakes in Crosslake. Hazel Patricia was born on October 27, 1935, to Leland and Hazel Lougee at their log home in Mission Township.

She attended the Mission Country Elementary School and then Crosby Ironton High School.

Hazel worked as a Candy Striper at St. Joseph Hospital in Brainerd right out of school. She met Dale Yotter at Moonlight Bay in Crosslake, and they married on March 27, 1954. Hazel became a homemaker and mother. She returned to work at St. Joseph Hospital as a CNA after her children were older.

Hazel loved being a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother and she created many happy loving memories for her family. She enjoyed gardening and canning, tending her many flower beds, camping, riding snowmobiles, and talking on the CB homebase with her handle of Hazel Nut.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Dale (also known as Wheel Nut), her infant daughter Janet Sue, her parents Leland and Hazel Lougee, her siblings/in-laws Joyce (Hank) Zuelich, Juanita (Walter) Graf, Sam (Mick) Lougee, Jack Lougee, Harley (Barb Johnson) Lougee, and Bobby Lougee.

Hazel is survived by her children Carolyn (Kim Kurilla) Yotter, Roger (Debby) Yotter, Steven (Trish) Yotter, Todd Yotter, Kay (Ed) Searle, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and sister-in-law Bev Lougee.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church in Crosslake. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be at the Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake.
