Helen (Stefin) Erickson

Helen Stefin Erickson age 92 of Crosby died at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby on November 4, 2016.  She was born in Ely, MN to Matthew and Mary (Miksha) Stefin.  Helen graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School as valedictorian from the class of 1942. Helen married Walter Erickson on June 3, 1968 in Crosby.  She was a retired employee of the Central Lakes Clinic in Crosby.  She also had prior employment with Hanna Mining and Butler Brother Mining Company.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby and was a member of the National Society of Catholic Foresters, St. Mary’s Court 854.  Helen was an avid sewer and reader.  She enjoyed doing needle-work and playing bridge.

Helen is survived by one son, Dennis (Patricia) Petrich of Lakeville; three daughters, Mary (Steve) Carlson of Cuyuna, Cathy (Leon) Witter of Hutchinson and Barbara (Allen) Dobson of Northwood, IA; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Preceding Helen in death are her parents, 1st husband, Eli Petrich in 1966 and 2nd husband, Walter Erickson in 2003; a granddaughter, Tracy Cleaves; two brothers, Matthew and Fred Stefin; and three sisters, Mary Gotchnick, Angie Stupar and Molly Domin.

Funeral services will be 12:30 on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.  Visitation will be on Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby from 3:00 to 5:30 pm with a prayer service at 5:00 pm and on Saturday 1 hour prior to the services.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
