Henry A. Butler 82 Years of Emily, Minnesota passed away August 18, 2016 after an 11-year battle with COPD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry W. and Effie Butler; three brothers and one sister.
Survived by Anna Karen, his wife of almost 60 years; five children (Michael A., Timothy J., William W., Charles E. and Lynne M.); eight grandchildren (one deceased); one great grandchild and one sister.
"Hank" enlisted in the Navy and served his country in the Korean War. He was a dedicated husband and father. He loved the outdoors and favored golf, walleye fishing and hunting ducks. He was an executive in the insurance industry and served the farm insurance industry as a lobbyist. Hank was a Shriner in the Moolah Temple, a 32nd degree Mason and a 50-Year Pin-Holder affiliated with the Northstar Masonic Lodge #447 in Estherville, Iowa. He was very active in the Crosslake Presbyterian Church in Cross Lake. Hank was a truly great man that inspired others with his discipline, faith and love.
Services will be held 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Crosslake Presbyterian Church in Cross Lake, MN. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. The family will be distributing them to their favorite charities. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
