Henry Jenkins Hutchison Jr.

October 28, 1936 — July 25, 2020

Henry J. Hutchison Jr., 83 of Merrifield died on July 25, 2020 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.  He was born on October 28, 1936 in Detroit, MI to Henry and Amanda Priscilla Hutchison Sr.  Henry was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood.  He was an avid Crosby-Ironton High School athletic fan.  He loved a good story and enjoyed fishing for walleye.

Henry grew up in Hopkins, graduating from Hopkins High School, class of 1954.  He attended Beloit College in Wisconsin as a medical student and then enlisted in the Army.  He served in Germany in the Medical Service Corps.  He farmed in Iowa, then returned to Minnesota in later years.

Preceding Henry in death are his parents Amanda Priscilla and Henry Sr., his stepmother, Glenna Hutchison and his wife Judy Ann (Sullivan).

Henry is survived by three sons, Jerry (Kim) Hutchison of Deerwood, Jim (Ann) Hutchison of Brainerd and Brad (Heidi) Hutchison of Merrifield; one daughter, Laura (Peter) Newton of Deerwood and thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorial are preferred to the donors choice.   Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
