James Edward Jensen

April 4, 1933 — July 10, 2013

James Edward Jensen age 80 of Brainerd formerly Cuyuna passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on July 10, 2013 at his home. He was born on March 4, 1933 in Crosby to Walter and Faye (Leighton) Jensen. He was a Crosby-Ironton High School graduate, class of 1951. He was US Navy Korean War veteran. He married Donna Jean Smith on May 21, 1970 in Milbank, SD. Jim was a retired from Operating Engineers Local 49. He also worked for Scorpion Snowmobiles, and owned the Crosby CafAC.. He served as a councilperson for Cuyuna and enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to auction sales. Survivors include his wife Donna; 3 sons, Scott (Lisa) Jensen of Cloquet, Jeff (Malika) Jensen of Las Vegas, NV and Steve (Erin) Skarloken of Deerwood; 1 daughter Cathy Domeier of Brainerd; ten grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents; 1 son, Rick; and 2 brothers, Walt and George "Pokie" Jensen. Funeral services will be 1 pm on Saturday, July 13th at the Zion Lutheran Church in Crosby with full military honors given by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, Ironton. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 4 to 8 pm and1 hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
