Janice Marie Young

Janice (Johnson) Young passed away peacefully at her home on October 2, 2015. Jan was born on July 9, 1940 in St. Cloud, MN. She was the second of four children born to Roy and Harriet (Anderson) Johnson. Jan was a 1958 graduate of Foley High School. She married John (Jack) Young on November 17, 1962 at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church in Foley MN. To this union four children were raised. Jan dedicated her life to making a home where all felt welcome. She had many talents that she excelled at. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing. Her passion was gardening and she took great pride in creating a beautiful yard for others to enjoy. She was a beautiful person both inside and out who touched many people's lives. Jan will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Jan is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her children Rick (Ada), Tammy (Greg) Jeanette, Peggy, Terri (Brian) Knox, 11 grandchildren, Shannon (Troy) Larson, Brandon Kopnick, Donovan, Gatlin, Jessica, Jared, Austin Jeanette, Zachary, Mariah Jeanette, Brittney Knox, Brehndan Knox and 2 great grandchildren Landon Larson, Lilyanah Larson. She is also survived by brothers Howard (Jeanne) Johnson, Richard (Donna Woolard) Johnson, and sister Linda (Ronald) Hoffman.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Salem Lutheran Church, 21276 Archibald Road, Deerwood, MN. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. The family wishes to invite all to a celebration of Jan's life at The Bridge, 26969 State Highway 6, Crosby, MN following the service.

Jan's life is best described by the saying "Live Simply. Give more. Expect less."
