Jay Douglas Gibson

Jay Douglas Gibson, age 79 of Deerwood, passed away on August 18, 2026 at VA Healthcare System in St. Cloud. He was born on December 20, 1946 in Minneapolis to Ernst and Marguerite (Hatcher) Gibson.

Jay was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He married Jeanie Walker on November 15, 2019 in Deerwood. Jay was an avid fisherman and pool player.

Jay is survived his wife Jeanie; his sons, Jay (Daniella Pry) Kachina of Blaine and Gary Kachina of Columbia Heights; two grandchildren, Trevor Kachina and Mason Kachina; and nieces,Tammy Ebert and Dana Artis.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. on September 18, 2026 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls with Military Honors.
