Joanne Harris Johnson

JoAnne Harris Johnson age 78 of Ironton died on October 2, 2013 at the Harmony House assisted living in Pierz. She was born on November 15, 1934 in Walker to Benjamin and Ann(Novak) Harris. She grew up in Crosby-Ironton. JoAnne married John James Johnson on September 21, 1952 in Crosby. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby. While living in Minneapolis, JoAnne was a foster parent. Survivors include 1 son, Brian (Kimberly) Johnson of Buckman; 2 daughters, Tina (Brad) Wehmhoff of Coon Rapids and Cheryl Brewster of Brainerd; a foster daughter, Diane Burger of Crosby; 2 brothers, Robert (MaryLu) Harris of St. Cloud and Gale (Lu) Harris of Brooklyn Center; 1 sister, Donna Johnson of Duluth; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband John in 2004; 1 sister, Dorothy "Sis" Radice; and 3 brothers, Stanley "Bud", Jim and Richard "Dick" Harris. Memorial services will be held 11 am on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Saturday. If so desired, memorials are preferred to the Horizon Health Hospice in Pierz.
