Joel Brian Carlson

December 25, 1962 — February 11, 2019

Joel Brian Carlson age 56 of Duluth formerly of Fifty Lakes died at his home on February 11, 2019 from diabetic complications.  He was born on December 25, 1962 in Cambridge to Roger and Faye (Ranum) Carlson.  Joel was a switch installation technician for 32 years, serving AT&T Mobility, Siemens Stromberg-Carlson and NTT.  He was a member of the Fifty Lakes Sportsman’s Club, Crosslake Lutheran Church and the Cuyuna Range Rock Club.   Joel loved spending time at his Mitchell Lake home.

Joel is survived by one son, Logan Carlson of Pequot Lakes; one daughter, Brynn Carlson of Pequot Lakes; his mother, Faye Carlson of Crosby; one brother, Jeffrey (Deena Cavanagh) Carlson of Shevlin and two sisters, Jody (Ron) Carnes of Brainerd and Amy Carlson of Crosslake.

Joel is preceded in death by his father, Roger Carlson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the Crosslake Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Sunday. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.  Please send all memorials and flowers to the Crosslake Lutheran Church.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
