John William Metsa

John William Metsa age 69 of Bay Lake Township died at his home on April 18, 2016. He was born on April 24, 1946 in Virginia, Minnesota to Wayne and Karen (Silverdahl) Metsa. John was a retired Purchasing Manager with Control Data with 20 years of service. He was a former owner and operator of the Lonesome Pine Restaurant on Bay Lake. John is survived by his companion Nancy Schmidt; three sons, Wade Metsa of St. Louis Park, Curtis Metsa of Crosby and Brenton Metsa of Lakewood. CO; one brother, Roger Metsa of Angora, MN; one sister Kathrine (Glenn) Ikola of Trout Creek, MT; two grandchildren, Kyle and Brittany Metsa both of Emily and one great grandson, Bennett Rowe. Preceding John in death are his parents, his wife Lura; one brother, Gene Metsa and one sister, Ruth Jacobson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
