John Edward Usherwood age 90 of Emily died on August 27, 2013 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. He was born in Faribault on April 6, 1923 to John T. and Emily (Thomas) Usherwood. John was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran. He was a member of The Wesleyan Church in Emily. Survivors include 1 son, Terry (Angela) Usherwood of Emily; 3 daughters, Jean (Gary Hanson) Eller of Emily, Kathy (Martin) Tillery of Vesper, WI and Gail Mars of Cannon Falls, MN; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Gladys; 1 daughter, Julie Collins; 1 grandson, Jesse Tillery; 1 sister, Grace Barrager and son-in-law, Brian Mars. Funeral services will be 2 pm on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Wesleyan Church in Emily. Burial will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily with full military rites by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443 of Ironton. Friends may call on Saturday 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
