Laurene Anne McLaughlin age 79 of Crosby died on April 12, 2017 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. She was born on January 25, 1938 in Minneapolis to Robert and Violet (Menz) Spilman. Laurene was a U.S. Navy Veteran. She was a retired dispatcher and clerk for the city of Crosby.
Laurene is survived by two sons; Charles McLaughlin Jr. of Knox, PA and Robert (Marianne) McLaughlin of Cuyuna; one daughter, Lauri (Len) Bennett of Duluth; one brother, Robert (Joyce) Spilman of Detroit Lakes; one sister, Karen Berg of Deerwood; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Preceding Laurene in death are her parents; ex-husband and friend Charles McLaughlin.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby with full military honors given by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, Ironton. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the services at the funeral home on Wednesday.
