Lois Barnhart, 92, of Aitkin, Minnesota, formerly of Minneapolis, died August 14 at her son's home on Big Pine Lake. Born April 12, 1922 at Pine Knoll, Minnesota, she is predeceased by her parents, Linton Earl and Florence Isabel (Reem) Welton, her brother, Forest and her husband, Cecil Barnhart. Lois was a homemaker, living in Minneapolis, and was a community activist working for the betterment of the Seward neighborhood and the Healthy Seniors organization. She enjoyed participating in the Lois Club in the Twin Cities and in Aitkin. Survivors include her son Duane Barnhart and wife Angie; granddaughters; April Barnhart, Hugo, MN; Angela Sandritter, Huntsville, Alabama; Amy Moreland, Rochester, MN and Katherine Barnhart, Mahtomedi, MN and many great grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Pine Lake Chapel in Cutler. A private burial will be held at the Bennetville Cemetery. A visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church. The family wishes any memorial donations be made to Pine Lake Chapel or to a charity of their choice. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby
