Lois Bayliss

May 21, 1934 — February 9, 2012

Lois Ann (Erickson) Bayliss, of Iron Hub, died on February 9, 2012 at her home. She was born in Hibbing, MN to Arnold and Josephine (Koslucher) Erickson. Raised in Little Swan, she attended school in Hibbing, graduating from Hibbing High School in 1952 and went on to attend St Mary's School of Nursing in Duluth. She married Roger Bayliss and they raised their family of eight children in the Aitkin area. She worked as a nurse, a seamstress, a private housekeeper, and was employed prior to her retirement, at the Aitkin Community Hospital in Aitkin. Lois (Sis) lived her life with enthusiasm for nature, crafting, homemaking, gardening and was full of love for family, friends and liked a good laugh. Lois had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing, and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Deerwood. She is survived by sisters, Yvonne (Alfred) McComber of White Bear Lake and Nancy Jean (Edward) Pajunen of St. Paul, and brothers, William Erickson of Hibbing, and Ian Paul Erickson of Leavenworth, Kansas, and children, Michael (Susan McDonald) Bayliss of Cook , Candace (Jerry) Ferrier of Crosby, Mark Bayliss of Crosby, Mary Bayliss Parker of Pequot Lakes, Susan (Charles) Berg of Nisswa, Nanette (Lee) Berg-Stevens of Hill City, and 42 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; Arnold ("Porky") and Josephine ("Pep"), her husband, Roger, her son Joseph Arnold Bayliss, her daughter, Nadine Joy Kittelson, her son-in-law, Jerry Lynn Berg, her grandson, Chad Joseph Berg and great-grandson, Myles John Schweiberger. Services will be held 1 pm on Monday, February 20th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends may call on Monday, 2 hours prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
