Lois Florence Erickson

Lois Florence Erickson age 81 of Aitkin passed away on August 23, 2013 at the Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin after a long battle with cancer. She was born on November 3, 1931 in St. Francis, MN to George and Florence (Heaton) Miller. Lois graduated from the Anoka High School, class of 1949. She worked for Federal Cartridge for a few years. She married Lawrence Allen Erickson on June 27, 1953 at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Anoka. They began raising their family in Coon Rapids and then moved to Anoka. They moved to Aitkin in June of 1988 after Larry retired, residing on Clear Lake for 21 years. In 2009 they moved into Aitkin. Lois is a member of St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin. Survivors include her husband, Larry; 3 sons, Loren (Pam) Erickson of Waseca, Leigh(Michelle) Erickson of Phoenix, AZ, and Lowell (Susan) Erickson of Fargo, ND; 2 daughters, Linnea (Butch) Colago of Anoka and Launa (Michael) Erickson-Streed of Andover; 1Brother, Dale Miller of Denver, CO; fifteen grandchildren, Leigh J. (Beth)Erickson, Ryan (Tara) Erickson, Christi Erickson, Ross (Kayla) Erickson, Marie (Casy) Martineau, Michael (Erin) Colago, Melanie (Derek) Colago, Miles (Sarah) Colago, Claire Erickson, Lars Erickson, Andrew Erickson, Matthew Herrala, Austin Streed, Mikayla Streed, and Abigail Streed , 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Joan Miller. Funeral services will be 11 am on Friday, August 30, 2013 at St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery in Aitkin. Friends may call on Friday 1 hour prior to the services at the church. If so desired memorials are preferred to Hope Lodge/American Cancer Society, 2500 University Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55414. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
