Louis John Nelson age 88 of Nisswa formerly of Crosby died on September 5, 2014 at Nisswa Senior Care. He was born on September 6, 1925 in Ironton to Christian and Tessie (Detzler) Nelson. Louis graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1946. He married Ina Benham in 1956.
Survivors include 2 brothers, John (Florence) Nelson of Brainerd, Emil (Kathy) Nelson of San Angelo, TX; 6 sisters, Rose Lambert of Billings, MT, Emma (John) Jackson of Nisswa, Shirley Warner of Baxter, Lucille Thomsen of Baxter, Mable Nelson of Prairie Du Chien, WI; and Edith (Tom) Thomsen of Nisswa.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife Ina Nelson; 1 brother, Ernest Nelson; and 3 sisters, Marie Lewis, Betty Rozenboom and Alice Wright.
Funeral services will be 12:15 pm on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Lakewood Cemetery Chapel in Minneapolis. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be on Wednesday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 5 to 7 pm with a prayer service at 6:30 pm and 1 hour prior to the services at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel in Minneapolis.
