Louis Edward Valiquet

Louise Edward Valiquet, age 86 of Crosby, passed away on September 27, 2026. He was born in Crosby on June 14, 1940 to Napoleon “Bones” and Wanda (Evans) Valiquet. Louie married Penny Abbott on August 1, 1964 in Crosby.

Louie and Penny bought the Crosby Dairy Queen on January 20, 1975. They owned and operated at this location for over 30 years.

Louie is survived by his wife of 62 years, Penny; niece, Trisha Abbott and her children, Braydon and Elyjah Abbott all of Crosby; nephews, Justin (Kelsie) Abbott and their children, Dylan and Alyssa Abbott of Brainerd and Mike (Lisa) Valiquet and their children, Sydney and Sophia Valiquet of Blaine; one brother, Don (Lynn) Valiquet of Brainerd; and sister-in-law, Kris Abbott of Ironton.

Preceding Louie in death are his parents and brother-in-law, Rob Abbott.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at the Taconite Canteen in Ironton from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with sharing of memories at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
