Margaret Louise Quinlan

October 20, 1935 — November 14, 2015

Margaret Quinlan age 80 of Deerwood died on November 14, 2015 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby after a long battle with COPD. Marge was born on October 20, 1935 in Minneapolis to Harry and Elsie (Solberg) Krieg. She married Patrick Quinlan on August 11, 1956 in Minneapolis. Marge was employed by the Minneapolis Public Schools, as a tutor for small groups of children for enrichment and remediation classes. After retirement in 1994 Marge and her husband moved to their cabin in Deerwood which they enlarged to make it into a year round home. She served as secretary of the Turtle Lake Improvement Association for six years and as an Election Judge for Bay Lake Township for 12 years. Her hobbies over the years were sewing, knitting, and writing poetry for family and friends.

Marge is preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Damm.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Patrick; daughters, Lisa (Steve) Seifert and Paulette (Michael) Berndt; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and one sister, Pauline (Walter) Appelbaum.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 8 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby and 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
