Marvin Arthur Schoenike age 78 of Deerwood died on June 22, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital. He was born on January 27, 1936 in Matteson Township, WI to Clarence and Viola (Hansen) Schoenike. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Marvin married Mary Jo on August 2, 1991 in Minneapolis. He was a retired Metro Transit Bus Driver with 20 years of service. Marvin was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood, the Bay Lake Area Lions and the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post #557 of Deerwood.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo; 4 sons, Kevin Schoenike of Circle Pines, Keith (Cheryl) Schoenike of Columbia Heights, Kevin (Jodi) Stensrud of Stacy and Kyle Stensrud of Deerwood; 2 daughters, Kathy (Scott) Dewhurst of New London, WI and Kelly Schoenike (Ron McMahon) of Crystal; eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; 2 brothers, Douglas and Marvin's twin, Milton.
Funeral services will be 11 am on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at the Deerwood Scandia Cemetery with full military honors given by the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral home in Crosby.
