Mary Lou Eleanor Roth

Mary Lou (Erickson) Roth passed away on November 13, 2024 at the Minnewauska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, MN at the age of 82 yrs. Mary Lou was born at home on the family farm near Finlayson, MN on February 18, 1942.  She married David Roth on June 6,1963. She and David lived a few years near the Twin Cities and Wausau, WI. Then settled near McGrath, MN where they raised Renee and David Jr. Then moved to Deerwood, MN.

Mary Lou enjoyed being involved in her church, fishing and camping, visiting with neighbors at the coffee shop, and long walks with her dog Cindy. She is fondly remembered by her grandchildren for her wonderful cooking, holiday meals, desserts and special handed down family recipes she would make for David. Cooking for her family was her love language. Mary Lou was proud of her Finnish heritage. She retold many stories from her childhood memories growing up in her Finnish home. She was a proud Finn that definitely didn't partake in small talk!

Preceding Mary Lou in death are her husband, David (Dec 8, 2021); a grandson, Cody Roth; her parents, Enio and Sadie Erickson; her brothers, Delbert, Earl, and Jerome; her sister, Delores Oxford and her husband's parents, Sterling and Ruth Roth

Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Renee (Michael) Bjork, her son David Jr., former daughter- in-law, Kerri Roth, sister-in-law, Irene Ripka; 12 grandchildren, and several great  grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Burial will be at the Pliney Cemetery in McGrath at a later date.
