Mary Garberg Pavek

Mary Garberg Pavek, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family, way too soon, at the age of 63.  Mary courageously fought cancer for 3 ½ years, without a complaint.  She was self-less, strong, positive and always looking after others.  She had the innate ability to light up any room and everyone she met was an instant friend.  Heaven is a brighter place with her smile.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Thomas Pavek, whom she married in Edina on November 15, 1985. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Marit (Blake) Schultejans and her future granddaughter. As well as her father, brothers, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and countless friends she loved like family.

Mary is preceded in death by her mother and two sisters.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for June.  In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted by the family to benefit the Minnesota State Fair Foundation.  A bench in her honor will be placed at the State Fair, where it can be used for years to come.
