Mary Wood Severson

Mary Wood Severson, age 97 of Crosby, MN and formerly of St Paul passed away on May 21, 2024 at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby.  She was born in Eau Claire, WI on April 1, 1927 to Alois and Dorotha (Wadby) Stussy.

Mary graduated from Mundelein College in Chicago, IL.  She was a concert pianist on WGN Radio in Chicago, IL, retiring to Deerwood, MN in 1989.  Mary was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby, MN.  She was very active at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Deerwood with the Altar and Rosary Society.

Mary is survived by four sons, Dr. Paul (Theresa) Severson of Deerwood, MN, John (Teri) Severson of Deerwood, MN, Philip Severson of Shakopee, MN and Matthew Severson of Burnsville, MN; two daughters, Sarah (Sam) Shannon of Delray Beach, FL and Martha Severson of New Brighton, MN; Fifteen grandchildren, fifty-five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Preceding Mary in death were her parents and her husband Walter O. Severson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby, MN.  A visitation and rosary will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at the church.  Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire, WI.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby, MN.
