Melvin H. Cook age 79 of Crosby died on October 20, 2015 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. He was born November 1, 1935 in Robbinsdale to Edward and Dora (Schaefer) Cook. Mel was a retired mechanic at Iten Chevrolet in Brooklyn Center with 54 years of service.
Survivors include 4 sons, Peter Cook of Zimmerman, Kevin (Cheryl) Cook of Aitkin, Russell (Dorthee) Larson of Coon Rapids and Jeffery (Pam) Cook of Minneapolis; 1 daughter, Linda (Gary) Hamilton of Big Lake; 5 brothers, Alvin Cook of Rogers, Gerald (Carol) Cook of Paynesville, Neil (Kaye) Cook of Richmond, Harlin (Carol) Cook of Coon Rapids and Lynn (Nancy) Cook of Minneapolis; 1 sister, Hazel Smaglik of Richfield; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Preceding Mel in death are his parents; his wife Barbara in 2002 and 1 brother, Wilbur Cook.
Funeral services will be 1 pm on Friday, October 24, 2015 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be at the Brooklyn-Crystal Cemetery in Brooklyn Park 11 am on Saturday. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Firday.
