Michael Ray Flannigan age 63 of Crosby died on September 12, 2014 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. He was born on November 17, 1950 in Morris, MN to Ray and Phyllis (Tomoson) Flannigan. He graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1969. He married Wendy McCoy on February 7, 1970 in Crosby. Mike was the owner of Iron Range Auto Body in Ironton for 40 years. He was a Vietnam US army veteran. He was a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443 of Ironton for 39 years and retired member of the Ironton Fire Department. Mike will be remembered for working on and racing stock cars with his friends, riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Wendy; 1 daughter, Therese (Brian) Norwood of Ironton; his mother, Phyllis Flannigan of Deerwood; 3 grandchildren, Rachel, Katelyn and Joshua Norwood; 1 brother, Tom (Sarah) Flannigan of Brainerd; 2 sisters, Bonnie (Jim Hann) Manske of Ironton and Linda (Don) Tonn of Crosby; and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ray.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby with full military rites by the Myrin-James American Legion Post 10:00 am on Saturday, September 27, 2014. A motorcycle procession will be leaving Iron Range Auto Body in Ironton at 9:30 am. Visitation will be on Friday, September 19th from 4 to 8 pm at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby and 1 hour prior to the services on Saturday (20th) also at the church.
