Mildred Lillian Mathson age 99 of Crosby died on October 4, 2016 at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby. She was born on August 3, 1917 in Crosby and is the last to survive Peder and Anna (Skrinde) Midthun. Millie married Bernard Mathson on September 21, 1946 in Crosby. She was a retired telephone operator with Pioneer Telephone in Crosby and Northwestern Bell in Duluth. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby; it's Mariam Circle, quilters group and altar guild.
Millie is survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceding Millie in death are her parents, her husband, Bernard; and infant daughter, Donna Rae in 1957; eight brothers, Lars, Hans, Martin, Gilbert, Oscar, Myron, Lloyd and Clarence Midthun; six sisters, Anna Sanbeck, Stella Walker, Clara Wick, Margaret Smith and infant sisters, Mary and Stella Midthun.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
