Milea Mathilda O'Brien

Milea Mathilda (Nichols) O'Brien age 74 of Outing died on May 13, 2013 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. She was born on March 18, 1939 in Grand Rapids to Miles and Nellie (Locke) Nichols. She married Harold R. O'Brien on June 1, 1957 in Remer. For 4 years she helped operate the Outing Greenhouse. Milea was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Outing; the Outing Gun Club and was their secretary and treasurer for 22 years; member of the National Rifle Association; and served as secretary for the Outing Chamber of Commerce. She was also active in the community selling pull tabs at the Village Inn in Outing for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and helped organize events like the Fun Run and Sled Dog Races. Survivors include her husband Harold; 2 sons, Allen (Ang Kuku) O'Brien and Raymond O'Brien all of Minneapolis; 2 daughters, Robin (Wayne McKee) O'Brien of Remer and Linda Winters of Ft. Sill, OK; and 6 grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents and 1 grandson, Toby O'Brien; and 1 brother Henry Nichols. Funeral services will be 1 pm on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Outing. Burial will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily. Friends may call the church on Sunday 1 hour prior to the services. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
