Peter John "Pete Krmpotich age 90 of Crosby died on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. He was born on May 16, 1921 in Krivi-Put, Yugoslavia to Anton and Lucy (Spalj) Krmpotich. Pete was a WWII Navy veteran. He married Mary Jane Pankrantz on June 26, 1948 in Crosby. He was a miner, employed by Zontelli brothers and Inland Steel. He was in research and development and advertizing maker for Scorpion Snowmobile Company. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby and the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, Ironton. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Jane; 2 daughters, Kris O'Brien of Ham Lake and Kim Preimesberger of Deerwood; 1 brother, Frank (Connie) Krmpotich of New Brighton; 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents and 2 sisters, Mary Palmer and Jean Feldt. Funeral services will be 11 am on Thursday , March 29, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby with military honors given by the Myrin-James American Legion Post. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
