Peter Eric Peterson

Peter Eric Peterson, age 78, son of Eric (Peter) and Ellen Peterson, was born in Crosby, Minnesota on June 2, 1946.  He passed away on September 25, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Pete graduated from Crosby- Ironton High School in 1965.  After graduating high school, Pete enlisted in the United States Navy in 1965 where he served aboard the USS Hunley and was a crane operator.  He was proud of his time served in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1971.  After his service he worked for FMC as a weld finisher and then for the Osseo School District as a custodian. Pete loved a good joke and was a great storyteller.  He almost always had the radio on and tuned into the golden oldies or classic country.  Some of Pete’s favorite things were a good cup of coffee, chicken wings, candy, chili, westerns, watching sports with his family, talking politics, and visits from his favorite dogs. Everyone who knew Pete knew that he was a kind, loving and gentle person and that he loved his family very much.  He is survived by his daughter, Angela; daughter, Heather; son, Matt (Kristi); daughter, Bonnie (Tim); son, Jake; daughter, Cassy (Jeremiah); grandchildren, Cora, Courtney, Jordan, Aidan, Morgan, Tyler, Will, Sam, Riley and Jaxon; sisters, Melanie, Nancy and Kathy (Gary); as well as great grandchildren and many other family members.  He is preceded in death by his father, Eric (Peter); mother, Ellen; sister, Faith; brother-in-law, Dan; brother-in-law, Gary (Lunny); first wife, Sue and grandson Bruce. He will be cremated and laid to rest with his parents in the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby, Minnesota. A private family graveside interment has been decided on. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
