Ralph T. "Slim" Olson

Ralph T. “Slim” Olson Sr. age 89 of Crosby died at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby on August 2, 2018.  He was born in Crosby on June 29, 1929 to Joseph and Emma (Seguin) Olson. Slim was a Korean Army Veteran.  He married Gwendolyn Belle Ferguson on October 24, 1981 in Crosby. Slim was a former employee of Woodland Container and Scorpion Snowmobile.

Slim is survived by his wife of 37 years Gwen; one son, Ralph (Mary) Olson Jr. of Crosby; one daughter Beverly Olson of Crosby; step son, Patrick (Belinda) Maki of Chisholm; a twin brother, Raymond (Diane) Olson of Rice Lake, WI; two sisters, Agnes LaBorde of Emily and Gladys VanVickle of Crosby; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Preceding Slim in death are his parents; and three brothers, Godfrey, Albin and Leonard Olson.

A Graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the Woodland Cemetery in Irondale Township with full military honors given by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443 of Ironton.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
