Richard "Rick" Coccie

Richard James “Rick” Coccie, age 64 of Deerwood passed away unexpectedly on February 7, 2025. He was born on August 1, 1960 in Grand Rapids to Richard and Elfriede (Rendle) Coccie. Rick was united in marriage to Deanna Bordwell on May 1, 2016 in Crosby.  He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the U.S. Air Force with 24 years of service.  He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Crosby and the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post #557 of Deerwood.

Rick is survived by his wife, Deanna; one son, Travis (Ashlee) Enloe of Kingman, AZ; two daughters, Leanne (Ree) Estes of Ellensburg, WA and Alena (Eli) DeBerry of Monroe, WA; stepmother, Susan J. Coccie of Floodwood; one brother, Charles Coccie of Cloquet; one sister, Susan Ostern of Duluth; one nephew, Patrick Passeri of Duluth; and nine grandchildren.

Preceding Rick in death are his parents.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Crosby.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby with full military honors by the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion #557, Deerwood.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
