Richard Chandler Kunz

Richard "Dick" Chandler Kunz age 65 of Deerwood died on September 2, 2015 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born on November 29, 1949 in St. Paul to James and Marjorie (Haskell) Kunz.
Dick was a retired insurance adjuster with many years of service. He also worked as an area carpenter. He was the former Mayor of Deerwood and a retired Deerwood Fire Fighter. He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood.
Dick is survived by his wife, Beverly; two sons, Jesse (Kristi) Kunz of Deerwood and Michael Kunz of Crosby; his parents, Dr. James (Ellen) Kunz of Rapid City, SD and Marjorie (Dr. Byron) Backus of Cloquet; one brother, James (Shelly) Kunz of Lenexa, Kansas; three sisters, Susan (Darold) Watters of Rapid City, SD, Kathy (Mike) Koschmeder of Rogers and Nancy (Robert) Endsley of Lathrop, MO; two grandchildren, Ethan and Brandon Kunz and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
