Rita Ann Lehnert

Rita Ann Lehnert, age 79 of Edina died on December 5, 2022 at Essentia St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.  She was born on January 28, 1943 in Minneapolis to Walter and Mary Lehnert.  She graduated from Holy Angels High School in 1961, Creighton University in 1965 and received her Master’s Degree from the University of Minnesota.

Rita taught elementary education in San Diego and San Francisco, for the Armed Forces at Ramstein Air Base in Germany and in Wayzata.  She loved children.  Rita volunteered at the Raptor Center for many years.  She loved to travel especially to countries to see their wild animals.  Rita climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and was on the Caladonian Star when hit by a rogue wave on a trip to Antarctica.  Rita lived life to the fullest and was an inspiration to all.
