Robert Evans Thompson

Robert E. Thompson age 80 of Garrison formerly NE Minneapolis died on April 14, 2013 at the Maple Grove Hospital. He was born on April 29, 1932 in Minneapolis to Lars and Marion (Evenson) Thompson. He was a Korean War army veteran. Bob was a retired Teamster driving for Midwest Motor Express in Roseville. He was a member of the Garrison VFW #1816 and Light of the Cross Lutheran Church in Garrison. Survivors include 1 son, Michael (Lynn) Thompson, Blaine; 2 daughters, Teri Wold, Hopkins, and Colleen (Kevin) Sweet, Elk River; 7 grandchildren, Matthew (Erin) Sweet, Robert (Elizabeth) Wold, James Wold, Jared Sweet, Hannah Sweet, Christopher Wold and Luke Sweet; 1 great grandchild, Madeleine Wold. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carol, 1 brother and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be 11 am Monday, April 22, 2013 at Light of the Cross Lutheran Church in Garrison. Burial will be at the MN state veterans cemetery 2 pm Monday. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements Koop Funeral Home, Crosby.
