Roger Allen Nielsen

Roger Allen Nielsen age 79 of Crosby died on January 31, 2015 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born on August 12, 1935 in Sioux Falls, SD to Oluf and Evelyn (Bernards) Nielsen. He married Patricia Anne Baines on September 11, 1962 in Las Vegas. He is a retired US Air Force Veteran with 20 years of service, including time in the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post 557 of Deerwood. He was a retired owner and operator of Nielsen's Automotive near Aitkin.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia; 1 son, Mark (Sharon) Nielsen of Coquille, OR; 2 daughters, Jeanette (Chuck) Montgomery of Nisswa and Cheryl (Monte) Tibbetts of Aitkin; 1 brother, Steve (Julie) Nielsen of Nevis; 3 sisters, Elsie (Pete) Brouwer of Valley Springs, SD, Lynda Knudson of Sebeka and Julie Nielsen of St. Francis; twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 1 pm on Thursday, February 5th at the Life Spring Church in Crosby with Military Honors given by the Walter Scott Erickson Post 557 of Deerwood. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
