Ronald Jacob Jelen

Ronald Jacob Jelen age 72 of Crosby died on June 7, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud. Ron was born on February 26, 1942 in St. Leo, Minnesota to Joseph and Elizabeth (Kloos) Jelen. He married Linnea Marie Schwall on January 27, 1979 in Crosby. He was US Navy veteran and a member of the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post #557 of Deerwood. He was a retired employee of MNDOT with 27 years of service. Ron was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby, the Cuyuna Range Knights of Columbus and was an RSVP volunteer.
Survivors include his wife Linnea; 2 sons, Chad Jelen of Crosby, Aaron Jelen of New York Mills; 2 daughters, Jessica (Matthew) Lelou of St. Joseph and Amy Jelen of Brainerd; 3 brothers, Leroy (Sue) Jelen of Alexandria, Dan (Jerrie) Jelen of Savage, and Joe (Paige) Jelen of Farmington; 3 sisters, Evelyn Fossom of Richfield, Jan (Karl) Johnson of Apache Junction, AZ and Mary Lou (Duane) Gustafson of Wyoming, MN; and two grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents and 1 brother, Tom Jelen.
Memorial services will be 11 am on Friday, June 13, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery with full military rites by the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post #557 of Deerwood. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
