Ronald Jerome Knopik age 79 of Deerwood died on April 15, 2013 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. He was born on November 21, 1933 in Minneapolis to Joseph and Margaret (Kirscht) Knopik. Ronald was a US Marine Corp veteran. He married Mary Weise on February 9, 1976 in Sioux Falls, SD. He was a retired MTC driver with 21 years of service. He was a life member of the VFW, past president of the Spring Lake Park Lions and a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Mary; 6 sons, David Knopik, Ron (Rebecca) Knopik, Troy (Marcia) Knopik, Wayne Ott, Wade Ott, and Wyatt Pavin; 6 daughters, Shelley Haaopja, Wanda Knopik, Lori (Craig) Haugen, Brenda (Terry) Fenne, Mary Haft, and Wanda (Scott) Burgess. 2 brothers, John (Donna) Knopik, Terry (Cookie) Knopik; 1 sisster, Elizabeth (LeRoy) Beeson; 27 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents and 1 son, Warren Ott. Graveside service will be 1 pm on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls with military honors. Memorials are preferred to the Essentia Care Dialysis Department in Brainerd. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
