Ruby Cecelia Iverson, age 92 of Emily, passed away on January 29, 2025, at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. She was born on January 26, 1933, in St. Paul to Hugh and Pearl (Robertson) McSherry. She graduated from Harding High School in 1951, and graduated from cosmetology school in 1952. Ruby married the love of her life, Donald Iverson, in St. Paul, on June 13, 1953. Together they raised their four children; Peggy Ann, Donald Francis, Dyan Marie, and Theresa Rose. They enjoyed a wonderful life together in St. Paul, Crosslake, and Emily. In addition to helping her husband run their restaurant and off-sale business, Ruby worked at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, which brought her an abundance of joy. She loved her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and above all, she loved Jesus. She was known for her hugs and her bubbly personality (and her potato salad, which was delicious).
Ruby is survived by her son, Donald F. Iverson of Emily; two daughters, Rev. Dyan (Michael) Dietz of Denton, TX and Theresa Russell of Emily; her sister-in law, Karen McSherry of St. Paul; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Preceding Ruby in death are her parents; her husband, Donald; one daughter, Peggy Iverson; and three brothers, Hugh McSherry Jr., Allen McSherry, and John McSherry.
