Valery Jan (Gieschen) Moe, 79, of Emily, MN, was called to her eternal home on March 10, 2025. She was born on February 27, 1946, in Racine, WI to Theodore Carl Gieschen and Jennie Farnum (Phelps) Gieschen.
Valery was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found joy in serving her family and community. She expressed her love through baking and cooking, always ensuring that those around her were well-fed and cared for. She especially enjoyed bowling, quilting, playing cards and games with her grandchildren, and attending their sporting events. She also took great pleasure in serving bars at her church, Immanuel Lutheran Iron Hub, where she was a faithful member.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Jennie Gieschen; her sister, Kathy Landdeck; and her grandchild, Hope Mitchell.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, John Moe; her children Josh (Danielle) Moe, Rachel (Josh) Dexter, Nathan (Colleen) Moe, Bekah (Don) Mattson, Abby (Paul) Emerson, and Deborah (Christopher) Mitchell; her cherished grandchildren Alex (Jenna) Moe, Blake Jacobson, Tyler Dexter, Zoey (Hayden) Koss, Zach and Kylie Moe, Donovan, Megan, Olivia, and Isaiah Mattson, Phoebe and Zeke Emerson, and Harper, Riah, and Cullum Mitchell; her three great-grandchildren, Weston Moe, Avery and Cameron Koss and her siblings, Gail (Dick) Grauer, Kurt (Sandy) Gieschen, Grace Phillips and Becky (Art) Sharkey.
Above all, Valery was a forgiven child of God, resting in the promise of salvation through Jesus Christ.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Iron Hub, with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial donations to Immanuel Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice in Valery’s honor.
