Vasie Pauline Schmidt age 93 of Kansas City, Mo formerly of Crosby died on April 24, 2012 at the Timberlake Care Center in Kansas City, MO. She was born on July 2, 1918 in Belle Plaine, Minnesota to Emil and Clara (Petersdorf)Karnitz. Vasie was a retired employee of Sears with 22 years of service. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Crosby. Survivors include 2 daughters, Lois (Dan) Bredow of Kansas City, MO, and Gloria Schmidt of Kiester, MN; 2 brothers, Emil (Lyla) Karnitz of Prior Lake, MN and Melvin (Loretta) Karnitz of Lakeville, MN; Brother-in-law, Marvin Greenwald of Brooklyn Park and Sister-in-law, Esther Karnitz os St Louis Park, MN; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, George; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Long Prairie, MN on Monday, at 2:30 pm. Friends may call on Sunday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Crosby from 2 to 5 pm and 1 hour prior to the services on Monday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
