Wanita Blanch Hughes, age 93 of Pine River, passed away on September 18, 2024 at her home. She was born on September 20, 1930 in Summum, IL to Lindel and Margaret (Thompson) Winter. Wanita was a life long homemaker and was an exceptional cook.
Wanita is survived by her daughter, Sandie Brown of Emily; one brother, William (Lamelle “Eva”) Winter of Mount Pleasant, TX; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Preceding Wanita in death are her parents; her husband, Arlo Hughes; one son, David Hughes and one sister, Opal Lesnau.
No services are being held. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
