Wencell Robert Novak

Wencell Robert Novak age 88 of Crosby formerly of Emily died at his daughter's home in Deerwood on September 23, 2016. He was born on September 30, 1927 in Langford, South Dakota to Joseph and Ruth (Sanderson) Novak.

Wencell was a retired Crow Wing County Highway Department employee with 26 years of service. He was a retired charter member of the Emily Fire Department with 23 years of service. He was a former Mayor, City Council Member and part-time Police Officer for the city of Emily. Wencell was a member of the Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood.

Wencell is survived by one son, Bob (Scott Berg) Novak of Crosby; one daughter, Virginia "Ginny" (Tom) Ravnik of Deerwood; one brother, Wallace F. Novak of St. Louis Park; one sister, Joanne (Grant) Pickar of Verndale; five grandchildren, Becky (Dale) Pemberton of Big Lake, Brent (Loni) Ravnik of Alexandria, Nik Novak of Eau Claire, WI, Molly (Steve) Exsted of Big Lake and Natalie (Gary Nash) of Portland, OR and nine great grandchildren, Chloe, Zane, Ezra, Joe, Tom, Beau, Jake, Cole and Vivian. Preceding Wencell in death by his parents; his wife, Vivian; and 1 brother, Ward Novak.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
