Alden Elwin Jennison

Alden E. Jennison, age 88 of Deerwood died at his home in Deerwood sometime during the week of January 24, 2021.  Alden was last seen praising his Savior at Cascade Methodist Church where he was a member.  Alden retired after a long career working in the sheet metal shop that he owned.  After retirement Alden never slowed down.  He was a regular working at the food shelf in Crosby and he was often up at 3:00 am making donuts to sell to many organizations with the proceeds going to several charities.  Any time the Deerwood Legion had a fish fry, Alden was sure to be there helping with everything from frying up the fish to washing the dishes after everyone had their fill.   Alden was always first to volunteer to lend a helping hand to help his community anyway he could.  Family was important to Alden.  He spent many enjoyable nights with his nieces and nephews having dinner at their lake house.  He was born on November 3, 1932 in Crosby to Oakley and Amanda (Nystrom) Jennison.  He was a WWII Army Korean War Veteran.  He was very proud of his service for his country and would often give hats or shirts in remembrance of the battles he so bravely fought. Alden was a member of the Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood, the Walter-Scott Erickson American Legion Post #557 of Deerwood and a life member of the 194th Tank Regiment in Brainerd.

Alden is survived by one brother, Robert Lindroth of Everett, WA and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Alden in death are his parents; four brothers, Layton, Clifton, Clifford and Art Lindroth; and three sisters, Virginia Rudquist, Charlotte Moser, and Lorraine McCarvell.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby with full military honors by the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post #557 of Deerwood.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
