Arlene Esther Stromberg, age 89 of Baxter formerly of Deerwood died on January 4, 2022 at Essentia St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. She was born on August 28, 1932 in Leeds, North Dakota to Arthur and Esther (Engstrom) Waller. From many years Arlene and her husband Arley owned and operated Stromberg’s Market in Deerwood. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood, The Deerwood Civic League and the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Auxiliary Post #557, Deerwood.
Arlene is survived by two sons, Terry (Sandra) Stromberg of Erhard, Jay (Susan) Stromberg of Deerwood; one daughter, Patty Davis of Park Rapids; two sisters, Yvonne Halverson of Brainerd and Janice (David) Gustafson of Renton, WA; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Preceding Arlene in death are her parents; her husband Arley in 2006 and one brother, Arlo “Bud” Waller.
A Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at the Scandia Cemetery in Deerwood. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. If desired memorials are preferred to the Salem Lutheran Church Building Fund. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
