Obituary
Barbara Ellen Byorum-Smith, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died on April 19, 2022. She was born on May 16, 1948 to Glenn and Carole Byorum in Minot, North Dakota. She was in the 1966 graduating class of Minot High School. Barb graduated from North Dakota State University and taught home economics at Aitkin High School. She received a masters degree from St.Cloud State University in school counseling and was a dedicated counselor at the Brainerd Senior High School.
Barb is survived by her husband Baxter, her two daughters, Tara Mathson of Seattle, Washington and Samantha (Dylan) Stupca of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, a brother, Bruce Byorum, a sister, Marsha Renner, special nieces and nephews, and three grandchildren.
Barb touched many people with her loving, caring, and generous ways. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
